Ankylosing Spondylitis - Treatment

There is no cure for this disease, only adjuvant (symptomatic):-Alleviate pain and stiffness-Decrease inflammation-Slow joint destruction-Improved quality of life for patients.
Treatment for ankylosing spondylitis include:Life-style changes-Medication-Surgery-Continuous monitoring.
Lifestyle changes as part of trying to control the disease, includes some activities that help improve a person's ability to work independently and to maintain a positive mental attitude. They are:Specially adapted physical therapy-ExerciseStress-reductionHealthy eating-Move to another climate zone.
Physical therapy is an important part of treatment, demonstrating that it improves the symptoms bolii.In during this therapy, your doctor will personify each patient an exercise program, which aim to:-Reduces pain-To protect joints-To conserve energy.Exercise is important to maintain strong muscles prevents their atrophy, and to maintain flexibility in joints, which include: bicep curls, extensions, stretching and aerobics.

Surgery
