Ankylosing Spondylitis - Causes

Genetics: Scientists have identified certain genes that increase a person's risk of developing the disease, such as variations ofHLA-B gene encodes a protein with a major role in immunity.HLA-B27 is found in approximately 95% of Caucasians andAfricans Americans sick.

Age and sex: ankylosing spondylitis occurs twice as frequently inmen compared to women, and symptoms are more severe inthem. The disease is found especially during adolescence or adulttinar.Majoritatea are diagnosed between 17 and 35 years.

Infections: urinary tract infections and is believed to increase the risk of intestinal boala.Acesta not mean it is contagious, just asinfection triggers the disease in those predisposed.
Offending bacteria are Klebsiella pneumoniae, Yerssiniaenterocolitica.
