Bone Cyst - Diagnosis

Diagnosis is typical radiographic and bone cysts is shown when it demonstrates the presence of fluid. Laboratory tests are not routine in their evaluation.
Imaging Studies:Is virtually diagnostic radiography. A radiographic sign is a sign of particular fragment is identified when the patient fell and suffered a pathological fracture. Inside bone cyst shows sevens full or partial. At the time of fracture and break these sevens float fluid. The sign is found in 20% of cases. If the aneurysm is characteristic cysts of soap bubbles or sign subperiosteal cystic lesion or lithic.
Magnetic resonance detects cysts near the growth plate. Are reserved for atypical situations, when the diagnosis of osteosarcoma is suspected pseudochistic. Computed tomography X-rays show the same features as the plane, with Seven internal aspect of an egg, completely or partially intact. Note and fluidic layers.
Imaging appearance has been divided into stages of lesional progression:Initial:Small lesion eccentric-Without high-expansionLow erosion or plate appearance.Growth phase:Destructive model of rapid growth-Lysis of cortical bone and massive destruction.Stable phase:Distorted shell-bone marrow and numerous internal trabeculae.Healing phase:Trabeculalor-progressive ossificationIrregular trabecular-fused masses.Angiography is necessary in some cases. It shows a hypervascular area. It is a method to help control Intraoperative hemorrhage.
Histological examination (cyst aneurysm): macroscopic appearance of the cyst with blood sponge. A thin wall surrounding structures and new bone cavities containing blood. Brown shows tissue septa. Stroma contains proliferating fibroblasts, areas of osteoid formation and multinucleated giant cells. There are figures without atypical mitoses.Histological examination (unicameral cyst) is detected simple mesothelial cells lining the cyst. The inner cyst wall consists of well-vascularized new bone adjacent perisotul product. Occasionally, multinucleated giant cells are found in the cyst wall.
The differential diagnosis is made with the following conditions: encondromul, fibroids condromixoid, giant cell tumor, fibrous dysplasia, brown tumor of hiperparatoridism, kidney or thyroid carcinoma metastases by, pseudotumor hemophilia, hydatid cyst, osteosarcoma teleangieactic.
