What to do if you have an STD?
If you think you have a sexually transmitted disease, see your doctor immediately so that you have them do tests and be treated (you can go to your family doctor, a general practitioner at a family planning doctor, a gynecologist or a specialist in dermato-venereal diseases).
If tests show that you are infected with a sexually transmitted disease:
1. Tell your sexual partner about the disease to be treated, otherwise there is the risk of progression, of your reinfection or infecting others.
2. Follow the treatment as prescribed, even if symptoms have disappeared.
3. Treatment should be followed by both partners simultaneously.
4. You can not have sex than 3 days after treatment and when
5. all symptoms have disappeared.
STD treatment is especially important especially if you are pregnant, because STDs can affect the baby.
