Causes

Today we know the importance of risk factors of ankylosing spondylitis:
disease, family history
-presence of certain genetic factors
-male
very young-age
Good historical and certain infections.

Family history: Approximately 20% of people have a sick family member with the same affection.

Genetics: Scientists have identified certain genes that increase a person's risk of developing the disease, such as variations of HLA-B gene encodes a protein with a major role in immunity. HLA-B27 is found in approximately 95% of Caucasians and Africans Americans sick.

Age and sex: ankylosing spondylitis occurs twice as frequently in men compared to women, and symptoms are more severe in them. The disease is found especially during adolescence or adult tinar.Majoritatea are diagnosed between 17 and 35 years.

Infections: urinary tract infections and is believed to increase the risk of intestinal boala.Acesta not mean it is contagious, just as infection triggers the disease in those predisposed.
Offending bacteria are Klebsiella pneumoniae, Yerssinia enterocolitica.
