Etiology:
Oxiuraza is caused by intestinal worms called nematodes pinworms (Enerobius vermicularis). This worm is a small, white, aciform, yet visible to the naked eye, the female is 8-13 mm and 2-5 mm male. Help to understand the parasite cycle symptoms. The adult is often located in the terminal ileum, appendix and check. Fertilized females migrate to the rectum, anal sfincetrul pass, fixing the edge of the anus and the perianal region and here lay eggs. Embryonated eggs become infected after a relatively short period, for several hours. When they release larvae ingestion in the stomach.
Pinworm infection is considered dirty hands disease. Child self-infest the digestive track. Because anal itching children assimilate sub-nail when carrying eggs and favors hand to mouth contamination.
Signs and symptoms:
Parasite usually wear an asymptomatic form. In these cases is fortuitously detected by laboratory tests or the mother who noticed this in the stool or perianal pinworm.
The symptomatic form of pruritus (itching) and intermittent anal vesperal is a sign characteristic, is due to localized irritation eggs at this level. Will create an intense itching in the anal region and hypersensitivity reactions will lead to scratching lesions, lesions that can become infected. The girls are frequently found vulvovaginitys. This irritating symptoms causing insomnia or restless sleep the subjects, instability, restlessness.
Diagnosed positive:
This parasite is not effective coproparasitologic examination, are usually false-negative results. Useful for diagnosis is "Scotch test" or test with adhesive cellophane. It involves the application of transparent adhesive tape in the anal region and their subsequent examniarea microscope, to identify this parasite eggs for infestation. The test is performed morning, repeating for several consecutive days.
Treatment:
Prescription medication is administered to the doctor. Usual uses mebendazole (Vermox) 100mg tablets, 2 tablets daily for 3 days. After 2 to 4 weeks is given another tablet. This is necessary to obtain a complete cure. The first stage of the treatment kills the worms but not eggs. The second phase of treatment is useful for avoiding a remission of the disease, the eggs may cause a new infection.
Prevention of disease lies in the rigorous sanitary measures. Nails will be cut short and wash hands before every meal. Bed linen and body must be washed and cooked daily.
