Acute Laryngitis
Acute laryngitis in adults manifested by dysphonia (hoarseness), which may progress to aphonia (loss of voice), in some cases associated with dyspnea (difficulty breathing). Patients experience painful neck and constantly feel the urge to cough.
When other symptoms accompany larinigita - fever, generalized pain - the cause is often viral or bacterial origin.
Another symptom is the swelling of the larynx, allergic or inflammatory nature, or rarely, the consequence of renal failure.
In children, acute laryngitis is characterized by a dry cough, alteration or even loss of voice (aphonia), then episodes of increasingly intense dyspnea (difficulty breathing). Dyspnea may develop in stridor (wheezing), sometimes accompanied by cyanosis - blue coloration of the skin, which translates to poor oxygenation of the blood. It noted an increase in temperature in many cases.
One patient in two, the disease heals spontaneously within 2-4 days. Rarely, there are serious forms, which require hospitalization.
Chronic laryngitis is manifested by these signs:
- Sore throat, often less intense - Modification or loss of voice - Cough - Sputum - Sensation of dryness in the throat
