Signs of preeclampsia are part of the definition of disease: high blood pressure(hypertension), proteinuria (high levels of protein in urine) and edema after the 20thweek of pregnancy.
Precocity and hypertension are important factors associated with poor prognosis,because they can lead to fetal death in utero or fetal hypotrophy.
Symptoms of preeclampsia are:
- headache (headache)
- unusual drowsiness
- visual disorders: reduced visual acuity, even blindness, dipoplie (double)
- tinnitus (ringing ears)
- abdominal pain
- Nausea
- vomiting
- making sudden weight gain (more than 1 kg a week) caused by edema
Eclampsia is a specific sign of preeclampsia, as often occurs during pregnancy.
Eclampsia crisis is manifested by these signs:
- consulvii associated with an increase of hypertension (> 150 mm Hg to 110 mm Hg for the maximum and minimum)
- tonic-clonic seizures followed by coma postcritica. Seizures may occur after the 20thweek of pregnancy, during delivery or the first week after delivery to a patient who never had seizures.
