Transient ischemic attack

Transient ischemic attack (TIA) usually takes a few minutes, after which the symptoms disappear. Even if the TIA does not cause permanent damage, it is far from being an insignificant episode. Ignoring a stroke can have serious consequences for health.
About a third of people suffering a TIA will suffer a stroke, usually during the same year.
TIA may be either a warning, because announcing an impending stroke and an opportunity to take steps to prevent stroke.
