Nasal bleeding - epistaxis - is frequently encountered in ENT pathology.
Depending on the source of bleeding, epistaxis is classified intoanterior and posterior epistaxis. Hemorrhage is the most previouscases, originating in the nasal septum. Place the nosebleed areaKiesselbach predilection - a rich vascular network, located in the anterior portion of nasal septum.
Posterior nosebleeds sfenopalatine artery branches has thesource region of the posterior nasal cavity or nasopharynx.
The incidence of nasal bleeding is increased in children (between2 and 10 years) and elderly (70 -80 years).
