Miscarriage - Prevention

Abortion is identified in order to establish, if necessary, treatment to avoid amiscarriage again.

Habitual Abortion Treatment depends on cause. Medical investigations can highlightseveral potential factors, which individually or in combination, may be responsible forpregnancy loss. If a chromosomal abnormality in one or both partners is considered tobe the cause, the couple may benefit from genetic counseling to learn about thepossible risks.

In the case of malformation of the uterus, it can turn to surgical correction. It should benoted however that the existence of a birth is not necessarily the cause miscarriage. Forthis reason, the removal of a fibroid or uterine septum is no guarantee of a successfulpregnancy.

Effective control of diabetes or thyroid disease are essential in preventing habitualabortion in women with these conditions.

The use of progesterone is sometimes used for patients with recurrent miscarriages, though not yet widely studied to confirm the effectiveness of supplemental progesterone.

It is important to note that, in the treatment of recurrent miscarriages, even withcorrection cases, abortion can still occur. This does not mean that attempts to correctanomalies associated with spontaneous abortion is unnecessary. Only that treatmentsuccess is no guarantee of future tasks. Even with repeated abortions, no possibility of a successful pregnancy.
