Etiologic agent of disease is a parasitic mite called Sarcoptes scabiae, variety hominis, meaning that affect the man, because there Sarcoptes variants that affect animals primarily, but have difficulty adapting to humans. So scabies is caused by a bug!

The main manifestations of the disease are given by the female, which has a length of 350 microns and a width of 250 microns. At the cephalic end shows a female with which rostru dig a tunnel in the epidermis where they will lay their eggs. After laying eggs the female can not get out of the tunnel digging, because her legs have some thorns on the dorsal side whose orientation no longer allow exit. The eggs, after 3 - 4 days the larvae appear, leaving the skin surface and then forming nymphs young adults.
