Moles - nevus melanocitic Treatment

Moles - nevus melanocitic
Treatment

Pharmacological treatment is ineffective and inappropriate to treat neoplasms such as benign nevi melanocitici.

Surgical therapy.
Melanocitici nevi can be removed surgically for cosmetic reasons or due to malignant biological potential of the lesion. Nevi are often removed by tangential excision or shaving. Excision of deep lesions can be used for relatively small. Large lesions require complete excision with suture closure, even if the lesion is benign, because the lesions over 1 cm diameter are not suitable for the tangential technique.

A simple biopsy with conservative suture opening is usually the most expedient diagnosis if there is reason for concern for melanoma. If benign lesion is found not need another treatment.
Interpretation of partial biopsies malanom is especially careful with little experience in the pathology of neoplasms melanocitice microscopic evaluation. It can lead to a false diagnosis of nevus.

Nevi associated with prognosis is favorable melanocitici unique because these lesions are benign with no potential for malignant behavior, if not progress to melanoma. Patients with multiple nevi melanocitici seem to have a total risk of melanoma increased in proportion to the size and number of nevi.
