back Treatment of rhinitis
There is no specific treatment for acute viral rhinitis (common cold), but it generally takes more than a week.

Allergic rhinitis is treated with antihistamines or corticosteroids nasal sprays. Various medications can be used to dry the excessive nasal secretions.

Atrophic rhinitis is difficult to treat. Scabs that obstrueaza airways can be reduced through nasal sprays. Antihistamines, taken orally, are effective in reducing heavy lacrimarii, irritants and nasal secretions, but not nasal congestion. Corticosteroids in the form of drops or nasal sprays are very effective in treating nasal symptoms, but treatment should be initiated at least one week before specific allergy season. Corticosteroids may be associated with oral antihistamines in the first week of treatment. Cromoglicatul sodium is a medicine to prevent the release of substances that cause allergic rhinitis symptoms. In the form of nasal spray is less effective than nasal corticosteroids, but small children can be prescribed as an alternative to nasal betamethasone drops. For abundant tears may be prescribed antihistamine eye drops.

Desensitization therapy is very useful, especially if it started after allergy season and continued throughout the year. This therapy is instituted after the failure of other treatments and requires taking precautions to avoid adverse reactions.
