Nasal bleeding - epistaxis - is frequently encountered in ENT pathology.

Depending on the source of bleeding, epistaxis is classified into anterior and posterior epistaxis. Hemorrhage is the most previous cases, originating in the nasal septum. Place the nosebleed area Kiesselbach predilection - a rich vascular network, located in the anterior portion of nasal septum.


Posterior nosebleeds sfenopalatine artery branches has the source region of the posterior nasal cavity or nasopharynx.
Is increased incidence of nasal bleeding in children (between 2 and 10 years) and elderly (70 -80 years).
