Laryngitis - Treatment

Treatment in case of laryngitis caused by overwork voice andvoice rest consists of steam baths, which allow to reduce pain andinflammation. This requires the establishment of a bacterialinfection, antibiotic therapy. However, in most cases are of viralinfections and do not require antibiotics.

In cases of irritation caused by gastric acid reflux or an allergy, treatment of these diseases will allow a rapid reduction ofsymptoms. When bronchitis or another bacterial infection isresponsible for the occurrence of laryngitis, treatment withappropriate antibiotics, and corticosteroids are prescribed to reduce inflammation.

In some cases, antihistamines and corticosteroids are indicated(cortisone used locally in the form of spray, or sometimes by the general form of tablets). Treatment consists of surgical excision(removal) highlighted lesions after histological examination(microscopic observation) of the samples.

The best way to prevent laryngitis is to avoid irritating substances and overwork your voice. On the other hand, a highly effective method of treating an acute or chronic laryngitis is quittingsmoking.
