Epilepsy - Diagnosis

Any person can make a life crisis at a time, talk of epilepsy only when crises are repeated within a few months or years.

When children suffer more seizures, her doctor recommended a specialist fordiagnosis.

Often, the doctor diagnosed using a description of the crisis made by a witness andother information about the child's medical history. Are some specific investigations:

- A clinical examination and sometimes a blood test
- A CT (computed tomography) or MRI (magnetic resonance)
- An electroencephalogram

These tests do not establish a diagnosis of epilepsy, but provides information that canhelp discover the causes of crises. Normal results of these tests do not exclude the diagnosis of epilepsy.
