Retrograde ejaculation - Diagnosis and treatment

Diagnosis is established by retrograde ejaculation urologist, based on medical history, surgical and medical patient's. Acomplete physical examination, semen analysis and urine (afterejaculation) are required.
Diagnosis is confirmed by the presence of large numbers of spermin the urine sample.

Home retrograde ejaculation drug is easily treated by replacing the product. In contrast, retrograde ejaculation caused by muscle ornerve damage can be permanent. Only 40% of the lesions respond to treatment.

Most men do not require treatment. Approximately one third of patients with retrograde ejaculation caused by muscle or nervedamage seen an improvement after therapy with drugs that enhance bladder neck sphincter tone (pseudoephedrine, phenylephrine, clorfeniramina or imipramine). However, thesedrugs increase blood pressure and heart rate, not indicated in patients with hypertension or heart disease.

If retrograde ejaculation is the result of severe damage to nerves ormuscles of the bladder neck, restoring a normal ejaculation isimpossible, and the patient is sterile.
Infertility Treatment consists of harvesting sperm from the urine and their use in assisted reproduction methods, or by intrauterineinsemination or in vitro fertilization or intra-cytoplasmic injection(injecting a sperm into the egg).
