Asthma in children

Asthma is the most common chronic disease of children, especially in the first year of life.
In the last decade, the incidence of asthma has doubled in most industrialized countries. Children are the first victims of this growth, because half the cases, the disease begins before age 5.

Asthma is a respiratory disease that is manifested by episodes during which the airwaynarrows. An asthma attack often begins with a dry cough followed by shortness of breath, which is manifested by wheezing significant. It normally accompanies serousmucus.

Childhood asthma has the same cause as that of adults: repeated inflammation of the airways. This causes an exacerbated sensitivity of the airways, which can narrow whenirritated. Fortunately, childhood asthma can be treated. With appropriate medication, sick child with asthma can lead normal lives with isolated seizures.

It speaks of asthma after three episodes of breathing difficulties before the age of 2years.
An early diagnosis of asthma is essential to adopt an effective treatment that will avoiddamage to pulmonary alveoli.
