Pre-eclampsia and eclampsia - Diagnosis

Physical examination

Preeclampsia - physical examination shows an increase in blood pressure
Eclampsia - a physical examination highlight flare hypertensive (> 150 mm Hg to 110mm Hg for the maximum and minimum) and the presence of marked edema

Laboratory investigations

Preeclampsia:
- hyperuricemia (increased uric acid in the blood)
- proteinuria (presence of proteins in the blood)

Eclampsia:
- massive proteinuria
