Vaginismus

vaginismus

Vaginismus is a spastic contraction of the perineal muscles, primarily surrounding the entrance to the vagina and 1/3 lower vagina. Because of this contraction vagina becomes difficult if not impossible to penetrate.
 vaginismus
Among the causes of vaginismus are:
- Painful intercourse,
- Repeated vaginal infections,
- A history of sexual trauma (rape),
- Births laborious but
- Negative attitudes toward sex (strictly religious context, homosexuality).
Treatment involves the compulsory medical intervention, but equally good communication between partners (husband's cooperation is absolutely necessary)
