Cervical mucus method - Billings

Cervical mucus method - Billings
The woman check daily presence, appearance and quantity of cervical secretions. A few days after menstruation, secretion is reduced / nonexistent. Then secretion becomes more abundant, giving the feeling of moisture and can be seen on the finger, on toilet paper or linen.

In a given day, the secretion is abundant, elastic, fluid, transparent (is compared with egg whites). in the few days following this moment, the secretion becomes sticky, viscous, loses elasticity and transparency and reduces / disappears.

In the days following menstruation, before the advent of secretions, the couple can have sex, the best in every second day to not confuse sperm with cervical mucus. Once occurring secretions is indicated abstinence. At maximum secretion coincides with ovulation.
Abstinence should be practiced since 4 days after the day of maximum discharge, to change and reduction / disappearance secretion, after which the couple can have sex without restriction, until the next period.

Palpation of the cervix:
Women feel its their cervix - outside the fertile period, it is hard (nasal cartilage-like consistency) firmly with external opening closed. of childbearing age, the cervix is softer (like consistency chin), wet, covered with secretions, external orifice open.
(This method is rarely used as single sign).
