Vaginitis is an inflammation of the vagina which is manifested by discharge, itching and pain.
 
The cause is usually a change in the balance of vaginal bacteria or an infection. Vaginitis can be caused by reduced estrogen levels after menopause.
 
The most common types of vaginitis are:
 
Bacterial vaginosis, vaginitis is the result of this type of overgrowth of bacteria normally found in the vagina, leading to changes in vaginal flora balance. It is estimated that one in six pregnant women have bacterial vaginosis.

 Vaginal candidiasis, because this type of vaginitis is a fungus called Candida albicans. It is estimated that 3 out of 4 women experience at least once in the lifetime of a vaginal infection with a fungus.

 Vaginal trichomoniasis vaginitis, this type is caused by a parasite (tricomonas) and is transmitted through sexual contact.

 Atrophic vaginitis, is caused by reduced estrogen levels after menopause. Vaginal lining thins and dries out, causing itching, burning and pain.
 
Treatment depends on the patient's type of vaginitis.

 
Signs and symptoms
Common signs and symptoms of different types of vaginitis are:

»Change color or smell of vaginal discharge quantity
»Pruritus (itching) and irritation
»Pain during intercourse
»Pain during urination (urination)
»Light vaginal bleeding

In addition, some signs and symptoms depend on the type of vaginitis:

Bacterial vaginosis - vaginal discharge is white oberva gray, foul-smelling. Annoying odor ("over") is more obvious after sexual intercourse.
Candidiasis - The main symptom is itching, but may be accompanied by a white discharge, viscous-looking cheese.
Trichomoniasis - This infection is manifested by the appearance of yellow or gray-green discharge sometimes looking foam.
Vaginitis
Although all these different types of vaginitis symptoms is not always easy to identify the type of vaginal infection in question. In fact, diagnosis can be difficult even for an experienced physician. This is because many types of infection may be present simultaneously. In other cases, vaginitis may be asymptomatic.
Normal vaginal
Normal vaginal vagina is how to clean and maintain a state of equilibrium. They are transparent or cloudy white color and odor, not unpleasant. During the menstrual cycle, the amount and consistency of secretions vary.
