What does a dental hygienist?

If you still talk about oral hygiene and its importance, today we bring to your attention dental hygienist. In Romania this job has no equivalent, so many of you probably did not know existed.

What is dental hygienist?

Dental hygienist is one who performs professional cleaning and scaling. Thus he removes plaque, dental surfacing, removal of tartar deposits, identifying changes in occlusion, investigating components that relate to bone etc.
What does a dental hygienist?
He who does this job is first to see patients, to learn how to prevent dental problems. He shows how to maintain mouth hygiene, how to care for their teeth problems (eg teeth "straddle") or how clean their dentures etc. Hygienist can do x-rays and fillings put after medical treatment has ended.

Cooperation between dentist and dental hygienist is essential. They check each step together and take care that everything is clean before starting surgery or other interventions.

In the European Union there are 19 states where dental hygienists practicing. Their professional training varies from state to state.

In the Czech Republic, following three years of college hygienist can work and then only under the supervision of your dentist. It can work as employee or self-employed dentist. All studio 3 years is required in Denmark. Here hygienist has the right to freely practice and is not required to be supervised by the employer.
What does a dental hygienist?
Germany does not allow dental hygienist to work independently but under the close supervision of your dentist. Among staff of a dental office, the hygienist job corresponds to the highest level. In Hungary only teach one year and will then only work hygienist dentist who pays for each patient.

All three years of study and work under the supervision of dentists are needed in Iceland, Slovakia, Portugal, Ireland, Poland, Italy and Lithuania. At the same time, Malta, Netherlands, Norway and Sweden they have the right to practice independently.
