Poor oral hygiene habits in young people 19 years
Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Ghothenburg published a study according to which young people for 19 years in Sweden unhealthy oral hygiene habits. 7 of 8 teenagers have poor oral hygiene, which causes severe dental problems.
The study was conducted on a sample of 500 randomly selected young. On average, youth had plaque on half of each tooth.

Another common problem identified was gingivitis, is a negative concecinta poor hygiene. This may increase the occurrence of other dental problems, and finally to tooth loss. The study shows that most teenagers, 76% of respondents, wash your teeth at least twice a day, only 4% floss daily and as many do not brush their teeth at all for several days.

Researchers at the University of Ghothenburg say that most teenagers who are less honest say that using a regular toothbrush, but other studies show that they brush their teeth after basic rules. Poor oral hygiene is probably caused by the fact that they did not brush their teeth properly and floss not.

In this study, males showed poor oral hygiene compared to the female. The study was conducted in two different areas of Sweden, demonstrating that oral hygiene habits are not dependent on socioeconomic factors, regardless of where they belong. Researchers say it is lamentable that adolescents have poor oral hygiene, despite their investments in information on preventive measures.
